











We have closed circuit TV available during our lessons to not only protect our children, but also our instructors. Lessons are $75 per month. This includes one private 30 minute lesson per week with one of our instructors listed below.
GUITAR, BASS GUITAR, BANJO: Burt Usry
Burt has been the owner of Norris Family Music for over seven years and has been playing guitar for 50 years. He is very prolific in playing guitar, bass guitar and the banjo along with many other instruments. He also specializes in teaching guitar to children with ADHD.
His professional playing career includes being the co-founder and singer in the Wilderness Band, playing with the Texas All Stars for over 15 years as well as playing in many Texas Honky Tonks.

He has a style of playing that is unmatched to anyone else in the industry. He teaches students from ages 7 to 70 and beyond. It is never too late to learn how to play an instrument and Burt is a great instructor to learn from.
STEEL GUITAR: Jim Chapman
Jim is a musician/songwriter from Texas and has been playing guitar for over 40 years. He writes and performs all of his own music and uses custom guitars that he makes himself called JFC Guitars. Every guitar is built custom to the musician’s specifications. If you are a serious guitar player and want a quality custom guitar, then look no further than JFC Guitars.
Jim’s goal is to build affordable custom guitars for guitar players throughout the world who cannot afford custom shop guitars from major manufacturers like Fender or Gibson, but want the same or better quality at a much lower price. He is also a major guitar "tech" for musicians that need their guitars set up or repaired in a professional manner.
He understands the importance of having a guitar that plays properly. This includes: intonation, neck adjustments, string height, wiring, pickup adjustments, and various other repairs that a guitar might need. These repairs or adjustments include both electric and acoustic guitars. Jim Chapman is also a pickup distributor for Van Zandt pickups.
DRUMS: Hugo Chambers
Hugo has been the drum teacher for Norris Family Music for over five years. With over 40 years of experience, Hugo is certain to help anyone learn to play drums. He started playing drums with Hank Thompson at the age of 21 when he was just out of the Navy. Hank found him playing with the Starlighter Band.
Hugo then began recording with Hank in the 1960's and was with the Brazos Valley Boys for five of the 14 years that the band was voted the number one Western Swing Band. He left the band for three and a half years and played with Ray Price. After that, he returned to the Brazos Valley Boys and played off and on as needed until Hank's death in November, 2007.
PIANO: Madelyn Wood
Madelyn has been teaching piano for over 30 years and has been with Norris Family Music for over 20 years. Madelyn is a concert pianist and she also enjoys playing at church.
VIOLIN: Casey Seabolt
Casey started playing guitar at 10 years old. He is our violin instructor and is sure to take your child to the next level of music. His first lesson was at Norris Family Music and Burt Usry was his instructor. Casey’s influences include Metallic, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, and Ray Wylie Hubbard. He plays almost every instrument known to man.
GUITAR: Warren Wilson
Warren started playing guitar when he was 10 years old. He is a singer/songwriter with a passion for teaching. Warren has been teaching at Norris Family Music for four years. With over 40 years of experience, he is certain to help anyone learn to play guitar whether by reading music or by ear.
Warren is the founder of Broken Spoke which played locally and nationally from 1971-1989. He has played with some of the most well known musicians in country music, including Willie Nelson, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and Rusty Wier. He was managed for almost 20 years exclusively by Sue Harrington who also managed Asleep at the Wheel. Anyone in the Texas music scene is certain to know Warren as he has played with many bands on short notice.
